Akhirnya, Columbia pun memutuskan untuk merilis Angels & Demons, sebuah prekuel dari The Da Vinci Code, yang masih mendasarkan ceritanya pada novel karya Dan Brown. Angels & Demons sendiri menceritakan mengenai Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) yang ditugaskan oleh pihak CERN, sebuah Organisasi Penelitian Nuklir Eropa, untuk menyelidiki sebuah pembunuhan, yang nantinya akan membuka tabir mengenai pembunuhan empat kardinal dan penghancuran gereja St. Peter's Basilica.
